About Georgio…

Georgio stands is the younger expression of the estate Žorž that grows from the same roots. It’s so closely related, that we are, in fact, one family.

A heritage planted by our grandfather, carefully tended by our father, and now shaped by two brothers – each continuing this legacy with respect to tradition and following our own expression. With many hectares of vineyards, there is space for two visions to grow side by side.

Georgio was originally a nickname – a playful echo of Žorž that stayed over the years. When the time came to create a wine with its own identity, the name felt both personal and natural.

Georgio was born from the ambition to create an independent and distinctive style with a freedom to follow a personal vision.

Georgio is dedicated to fresh wines, with very little to no maceration. Wines are crafted to feel vibrant and refreshing. Wines that are inviting and energize, that encourage another sip, feel alive and balanced. Wines that present their lightness and are still interesting. Freshness is not a season – it is a style meant to lift up a moment.

About Estate:

Our vineyards lie in the beautiful Vipava Valley in Slovenia. Here, the grapes grow generously sweet from the sun and are shaped by the strong Vipava wind – Burja which adds to their character, strength and vitality.

The estate is considered large by Slovenian standards – around 20 hectares in total. For Georgio, we carefully selected 4 hectares that are exclusively cultivated from A to Ž by the producer brother Andrej Žorž. Still, a few friendly hands contribute at certain letters along the way 😉

In every vineyard, bottle and sip, we pay tribute to those who came before us – our family, our region, and the centuries of Slovenian winemaking 

Our goal is to carry this heritage beyond our vineyards, sharing a Slovenian tradition that unites people, one glass at a time, sharing what inspires us: poklon tradiciji.
